13 Week Twin Embryos

They are not easy to see and may take some studied looking. In the right hand picture, we've highlighted the twins. Along the left of the picture is one twin (1) laying on its side, upside down, with bottom and legs coming out toward us and its trunk toward the lower left corner heading out of the picture. We cannot see its head. On the right hand can be made out the head and upper body of one of the twins (2). Its left arm is extending out toward us. Notice all of the amniotic fluid around the these twins. It is too early to tell their sex.
